Voice I Cannot Hear by Fredrick Thacker, Ireland

You speak to me –
a voice I cannot hear,
but see.
Ironically,
you disappear
into words.
If we all aspire
to talk unheard
but only seen,
we can feel
the silence
that your words create
and the eternal sound
they break.

Let us stay
this way forever –
communicating
through a voice
that has no language,
a voice
no race has known.
I will continue listening,
when everyone else
has only heard you.
Speak now
to undo the sounds created –
I will listen with my eyes.
